Read about conservation tax credits, conservation easements as a tool for protecting critical habitats, and our latest conserved property in this Durango Telegraph article!
Our recent monitoring visit to Aaspas Ranch proved to be extra fruitful this year! Helen Ruth Aaspas poses with a 6.5-pound puffball mushroom found during her conserved property’s annual monitoring visit.
Aspaas Ranch was homesteaded by Helen Ruth Aspaas’ great grandparents in the late 1800s, and has been operated as a family farm and ranch since that time. The Property contains, and is surrounded by, rich and diverse wildlife and plant resources, agricultural land, natural, scenic open space, and historical and archaological resources.
A tea & tour of the Aspaas Ranch is always available to bid on at our silent auctions (the next will be Snowdown 2023!), so don’t miss your chance to get a special tour of this slice of high desert and La Plata River corridor.
La Plata Open Space Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your gift may be tax deductible. Our EIN number is: 84-1204273.
