Join La Plata Open Space Conservancy and La Plata County Extension for a full day training on land management best practices.
Nearly a dozen experts from around the state and region will present on soil health, water rights & irrigation, noxious weeds & pests, wildfire mitigation, and seeding.

Overview of Agenda:
- 9 – 11: Soil Health with John Rizza (State of Colorado Western Slope Soil Health Coordinator), Tom Bartels, Dale Horvath, and the James Ranch
- 11 – 12: Water Rights & Irrigation with Amy Huff (Colorado Water & Land Law, LLC)
- 12 – 12:45: Lunch provided
- 12:45 – 1:30: Noxious weeds and pests with Ben Bain and Darrin Parmenter (La Plata County, State of Colorado)
- 1:30 – 2:45: Wildfire Mitigation & Forest Health with Ryan Cox (Colorado State Forest Service), Moses Cooper (Momentum Tree Experts) and Alex Graf (Wildfire Adapted Partnership)
- 2:45 – 3:30: Seeding with Kendra Brewer (Southwest Seed, Inc.)
- 3:30 – 4: Optional: tour the Old Fort gardens or visit with NRCS staff
